FAQs

If you have any questions or would like to chat about FoSA please get in touch!

Who can join FoSA?

Any parent, guardian, teacher, or staff member can join the PTA. We encourage everyone to participate to make a difference in our school community.

Do I need to volunteer a lot of time?

Not at all! Any time you can give is appreciated; we need help organising, setting up, helping and cleaning up after events. We need your help so please get in touch with one of the committee members if you have time to offer.

When does FoSA meet?

We do not have regular meetings but when meetings are arranged we will update the online calendar and send reminders out via the Class Reps.

Can businesses or organisations support the PTA?

Absolutely! We welcome sponsorships and donations from local businesses and organisations. Please contact us for more information on how to get involved.

How can I find out about upcoming FoSA events?

We post all events on our website calendar, send WhatsApp messages to the year groups and share updates on our social media.

How do I share my ideas or concerns with FoSA?

We value your input! You can share your thoughts during meetings or by email.

What are the benefits of joining the FoSA?

By joining FoSA, you become part of a community that works together to enhance the educational experience for our children, and improve the school environment.

How do I become a member?

You can join one of our meetings, email friendsofsuttonacademy@gmail.com, and let us know that you are interested or chat to the class reps who will point you in the direction of the Chair or Vice Chair.

Do I have to attend all meetings to be a member?

No, while attending meetings is encouraged, it is not mandatory.

We understand busy schedules, so you can still contribute and stay informed through WhatsApp messages, our Facebook page and the website.

Can I attend a FoSA meeting even if I’m not a member?

Yes! All parents and teachers are welcome to attend meetings to learn more about what we are doing and how to get involved.

How does FoSA raise funds?

We organise a variety of fundraisers throughout the year; including fayres, refreshments at school productions, sponsored challenges etc… We are open to ideas too!

Where do the funds raised by FoSA go?

We work closely with Sutton Primary Academy to provide extra funding for school trips, activities within school and extra resources. We will publish the accounts yearly on the website.

Will FoSA act as a link between school and Parents?

We cannot raise concerns with school about educational issues or any other school concerns, please contact the school directly with your concerns.

FoSA is run by parents with the purpose of raising funds to support the school and enhancing the community around the school, we have no input into everyday school life for the children.
